How to Save Instagram Reels and Stories to Your Phone
Instagram doesn’t give you a native save button for most Reels and Stories — here’s the fastest way around that.
Instagram lets you bookmark a Reel to view again inside the app, but that’s not the same as having the actual video file on your phone — you can’t use a bookmarked Reel in your own edit, send it as a file, or keep it once it’s deleted. For that, you need to download the file itself.
Getting the link
Open the Reel or post in the Instagram app, tap the three dots (or the paper-plane share icon), and choose "Copy Link." For Stories, tap the three dots on the story itself — note that Stories are only downloadable while they’re still live and visible to you, since Instagram doesn’t provide links to expired ones.
From link to file
